NASEO Energy Data and Analysis Working Group

September 14, 2026, 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET

The NASEO Data and Analysis Working Group brings together State and Territory Energy Offices, other relevant state agencies, and affiliate members to discuss energy data needs and gaps at both the state and federal levels. As states work to meet growing electricity demands, they require additional and more granular data that spans multiple sectors (electricity, transportation, liquid fuels, etc.) to evaluate power needs, reliability, and affordability. State Energy Offices play a key role in tracking commodity markets and analyzing price trends and supply disruptions and use this information to inform policy and operational decision-making. Having timely and accurate data, along with robust analytical capacity, allows states to anticipate risks, prepare responses, and support the overall resilience of the energy system. This working group provides a forum to review available data, identify gaps and emerging needs, and develop data analysis guidelines to help states strengthen decision-making and energy planning.
