Please join NASEO on Monday, May 6, for a discussion on energy efficiency impact evaluations with a specific focus on calculating greenhouse gas emissions reductions resulting from energy efficiency. Quantifying energy efficiency and associated emissions reductions is important for considering energy efficiency as a resource to bid into energy markets, justify public investments, and utilize as a resource in air quality planning. The lead author of the State and Local Energy Efficiency Action Network’s Energy Efficiency Program Impact Evaluation Guide will provide an overview of the document and how state energy offices can use it to carry out an evaluation, from the planning to reporting stages. Representatives from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will discuss their methods for analyzing the emission impacts of energy efficiency and factors to consider when reporting avoided air emissions.
Speakers will include:
-
Mark Sylvia, Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources
-
Steven Schiller, Schiller Consulting, Inc.
-
Jennifer Meissner, NYSERDA
-
Karl Michael, NYSERDA
