The NASEO Transmission Working Group convenes State and Territory Energy Officials and invited experts to explore the topic of transmission and the role that transmission planning and deployment plays in enabling states to advance their respective energy goals. The focus of this meeting will be an informal state roundtable discussion regarding the Grid Resilience and Innovation Partnerships (GRIP) Program, with the objective to showcase State Energy Offices who have been successful in receiving GRIP awards and to highlight lessons learned for other State and Territory Energy Offices who may be planning to apply for Round 3 of this federal funding opportunity.
We will have speakers from the California Energy Commission, Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, and Minnesota Department of Commerce to share their experiences. This will be an informal peer exchange among State Energy Offices, and we will have a significant portion devoted to open discussion and Q&A. If you have particular questions on this topic that you’d like to flag ahead of time, please send them to Catherine Reed (creed@naseo.org) or Camille Norton (cnorton@naseo.org).
This working group convenes virtually on a quarterly basis to delve into policy, programmatic, and regulatory needs and challenges, learn from experts, strategize on shared priorities, and share best practices relating to the planning and deployment of transmission. Please note that this meeting has been rescheduled from Monday, November 11, to Tuesday, November 12, 2024, as Monday is the Veteran’s Day holiday. Please register for the meetings here.
