NASEO hosted a webinar on Wednesday, May 9, from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. ET, on the Energy Service Company (ESCO) Project Analysis and Reporting System (EPARS), a new web-based tool being developed by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) in collaboration with the National Association of Energy Service Companies (NAESCO).
EPARS standardizes the collection and streamlines the reporting of performance data of energy savings performance contracts (ESPCs). It provides statistics from the largest database of ESPC projects in the world, enabling users to quickly benchmark the estimated performance of proposed retrofits against historical data. LBNL will develop this tool in collaboration with State Energy Offices to assist in their efforts to simplify the collection and reporting of ESPC project information.
Peter Larsen, Senior Engineering Associate from LBNL, and Donald Gilligan, President of NAESCO, provided an overview of the new EPARS system. State Energy Offices were invited to submit feedback and questions during the webinar, and through a follow-up survey. LBNL is continuing to solicit feedback from State Energy Offices on the portal and is interested in collecting additional ESPC project data. Please contact Peter Larsen with questions or if your office is interested in being involved in testing the new system.
