The past decade of cheap and abundant natural resources prompted governments, policy makers, think tanks and many market participants to conflate energy abundance with energy independence. Events of the past year have altered that framework, leading to an imperative re-imagining of global energy security. Global oil and gas trade flows have been upended by sanctions, governments are re-writing policy playbooks and global energy majors are re-visiting capital investment roadmaps.
Does the current tumultuous global energy landscape suggest a doubling down on fossil fuels or an acceleration toward renewables? Or both? Our conversation includes, but seeks to extend beyond the dynamic involving Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and promises to be a broader discussion involving the re-imagining of global energy security, and how these themes may impact the near, medium and long term nature of the global investment landscape.
Please join us in this session either in person at the Consulate General of Canada in New York City or virtually via zoom webinar.
