Topics:

A summary of Jeremy Williams’ presentation on the recent DOE positive determination of the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) is available here. The review also covers DOE’s proposed involvement in the development of the 2018 IECC.

Mark Stimson, of Bosch, summarized recent activities surrounding Zero Net Energy at the national level and on Capitol Hill. Following two congressional briefings, Bosch, NASEO, and others are looking to continue to build a ZNE coalition to encourage further federal action and guidance in this space.

Farak Nasim, of the California Energy Commission, discussed the recent CEC/CPUC ZNE wins, the collaboration that made them possible, and how it can be replicated across the country.

Jeff Genzer discussed the recent criticism levied against the Weatherization Assistance Program as well as various state and organizational responses, including this overview provided by NASEO Affiliate Member, ACEEE.

The final topic was a facilitated discussion on building energy issues and what the NASEO Buildings Committee and NASEO Staff should prioritize in the coming year. Given the breadth of issues that exist in the building energy sphere, the Committee is seeking input on policies, programs, and activities to focus on so that we can best serve the members. Please visit the priorities survey to provide your input. The Committee will use this input to develop a discussion draft to be presented at the NASEO Annual Meeting in San Diego, September 13-16.
