Tax incentives and low-cost financing enabled through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) will stimulate solar development on thousands of acres and millions of rooftops. State and local governments play a key role in facilitating this growth, but will need to navigate important questions along the way, including how to understand the various opportunities in the bill and understanding the potential impacts of wage and apprenticeship requirements on project development. SolSmart, a national designation program that supports local governments in fostering solar energy growth, can be an important resource to support state-local engagement, capacity-building, and process improvements to take full advantage of the new incentives and funding coming online in the coming months and years. In this webinar from NASEO and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) join for expert insights on how states can better understand connections between SolSmart and IRA and support engagement with local communities and governments as they accelerate the market for solar energy in their states and regions. Registration is limited to State and Territory Energy Offices. Please register here and email Kelsey Jones (kjones@naseo.org) with any questions.
