NASEO, with support from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management, is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop on carbon management for State Energy Offices on August 31- September 1, 2022, in Wilsonville, Alabama. Topical areas of discussion will include:

• The nexus between hydrogen and carbon utilization
• Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) for the industrial sector
• Federal and state funding for carbon management projects
• Environmental justice and community engagement
• Policy and regulatory considerations

Building on NASEO’s September 2021 Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) virtual workshop, this two-day in-person workshop will be an opportunity for State Energy Offices to gain insights into various topical areas related to carbon management and learn from their peers across the country through information-sharing and roundtable dialogues. The workshop includes a site visit to the National Carbon Capture Center and a tour of the facility.
