NASEO Webinar: Translating Risk into Action: Preparing the Electric Grid for Climate Vulnerabilities

December 13, 2021, 3:00 - 4:00 PM ET

The changing climate is presenting new and additional risks and vulnerabilities to the electric grid. Severe storms, unexpected weather events, drought, and melting permafrost will all have significant impacts on our energy systems. As a result of these natural hazards, power outages have been occurring more frequently and interdependencies between sectors have become even more relevant. For example, drought leads to lower water levels which can have serious implications on electricity generation. This webinar will feature experts on assessing risk and understanding the effects of climate change on the electric sector. Speakers from the U.S. Department of Energy, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and states will share relevant resources, strategies, and key lessons learned.  Please register here and reach out to Kelsey Jones (kjones@naseo.org) with any questions.
