NASEO Virtual Webinar: Incorporating Equity Concerns into Resilience Planning

October 25, 2021, 2:00 - 3:00 PM ET

Severe weather events and cyber-attacks can wreak havoc on the electric grid and lead to significant power outages and long-term damages to critical infrastructure. People with low incomes, indigenous people, people of color, remote communities, and otherwise marginalized people are at an increased risk from blackouts or other disruptions to the electric grid, especially as climate change is increasing severe weather. As a result, states are looking for ways to make their energy systems more resilient and reliable while also prioritizing equity concerns and assessing risk for disadvantaged communities. This webinar will feature experts on energy equity and resilience and will share insights for states as they incorporate equity concerns into their energy system resilience planning activities and process. Please register here and reach out to Kirsten Verclas (kverclas@naseo.org) with any questions.
