Introduction
Changing the mode of air conditioning is important to meet the increasing cooling demand without increasing electricity consumption and carbon emission. The Annex 85 project aims to study the feasibility and provide the roadmap of using indirect evaporative cooling (IEC) technology in different dry regions of the world.The draft Annex project proposal was approved as Annex 85 for a one-year preparation phase starting from July 2020. The project has defined four subtasks: Definition & Field study; Feasibility study of IEC technologies; Fundamental study; Simulation tool and Guideline. First workshop was held on September 11th , 2020. The workshop exchanged the situation of IEC technology in participating countries and discussed the participant and the leader of each subtask.The goal of this workshop is to exchange the current fundamental study and application of IEC technology, determine the roadmap of each subtask, confirm the subtask leader and participants, and to activate the preparation phase of Annex 85.
