Electric School Buses: Opportunities for Nevada Schools

May 28, 2020, 2:00 - 3:30 PM PT

Nevada schools have an important opportunity to save money, improve students’ health and reduce air pollution by replacing diesel school buses with zero-emission, electric school buses. By using funding incentives made available through the Volkswagen settlement and an NV Energy custom grant program, school districts have an opportunity right now to make cost-conscious investments in clean school buses. Electric school buses can also help utilities optimize energy use, lowering electric rates for all ratepayers.

Please join us for a webinar discussion into the benefits, financing and successful examples of investing in a #CleanRide4Kids.

We’ll have air quality experts, grant program administrators, transportation electrification policy advocates and school district leaders already exploring electric school buses available to share how Nevada schools can take advantage of upcoming opportunities to begin electrifying their fleets.

As we’re now acutely aware, air quality is vital to the health and well-being of our communities. In Nevada, 46,726 children suffer from asthma, and children of color disproportionately suffer from breathing dirtier air. As we close out National Asthma Awareness Month, we invite you to be part of this conversation on how we can reduce harmful emissions and cut costs for schools by getting electric school buses on the road in Nevada.
