The Governor’s Office of Energy Development is excited to partner with the Rural Water Association of Utah to bring you the First Annual Water and Energy Nexus Summit on January 22, 2014.  From federal issues, to  the state and local level, water policy affects us all.

Come hear Jim Ogsbury, Executive Director of the Western Governors' Association speak about the WGA's “Drought Forum”, Senator Margaret Dayton on conflicts between state and federal water regulations and Dr. Laura Nelson, Executive Director of the Governor’s Office of Energy Development on the role of water in sustaining Utah’s energy future, plus many more!

In the West, water is never taken for granted. In the words of Mark Twain, "Whisky is for drinking. Water is for fighting over."

Rather than "fight" over water, this Summit aims to facilitate a productive discussion about the conservation and productive use of the region's most precious resource.
