EVs are more expensive than traditional internal combustion engine vehicles, creating a barrier to widespread adoption. However, manufacturers have shown a willingness to reduce prices for bulk orders; Colorado recently received an $8,000+ per car discount on Nissan Leafs, and saw Leaf sales quadruple in a month. This could be of particular use to states that require government agencies to switch to AFVs or EVs, but don’t have the size to negotiate their own bulk rates. This webinar examined case studies of single- and multi-state approaches to bulk vehicle procurements, and financing strategies.
