Meeting Summary

On March 15, 2018, the Southwest Energy Efficiency Project (SWEEP) participated in a training to educate and encourage the building of Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH). Local Realtors, Lenders, builders, raters, sustainability leaders and community building and utility officials attended the training. Sam Rashkin with the Department of Energy instructed the group on “Zero Energy Ready Homes, the Experts Choice”. Nancy Kellogg presented on ZERH in the Southwest, Tanner McDonald with Triple X Construction was the “Voice-of-the-Builder”, Michael Szerbaty, Architect and Author, Anthony Floyd Green Building Program Manager of the city of Scottsdale, Sharon Bonesteel with Salt River Project (SRP) and Jan Green, Realtor/Instructor presented stories of ZERH’s evolution, challenges, key lessons learned and recommendations into the fast growing future of ZERH.

The Cottonwood Community provided the use of their community room in their beautiful LEED certified Recreational Center training space and snack, dinner, and music were sponsored by local title companies and Yavapai Realty.
