In December 2018 in New Orleans, ACEEE will host its first Conference on Health, Environment and Energy. This two-day, multi-track event will showcase the groundbreaking research of ACEEE’s new Health and Environment program as well as the work of prominent experts and academics in this growing field.
This premier event will bring together innovative leaders from a variety of professions to explore how energy choices can affect our health and the environment. The conference will explore how reducing energy waste, for example, can reduce pollution and protect health.
Speakers and attendees will be diverse, bringing expertise in public health and environmental regulation as well as enery-saving programs, policies, and technologies. They will discuss cutting-edge research and the pioneering efforts of public health advocates. Attendees will have plenty of opportunities to network and brainstorm.
This conference will feature multiple tracks for participants, who can earn professional continuing education credits. The conference will include plenary panels, breakout sessions, and moderated discussions — not to mention lunches, receptions, and fun activities.
As childhood asthma reaches epidemic levels and health effects from pollution intensify, there’s never been a more important time to focus on how we can change the way we use energy in order to clear the air of harmful pollutants and protect people’s health. Reducing energy waste can become a strategy for addressing many of the social determinants of public health. We hope you’ll join us for this timely, crucial conversation.
