Balancing Risks and Rewards in Negotiating Subcontracts and Managing Subcontractors on Energy Efficiency Projects
Energy savings performance contracts can be fraught with risk due to the use of cutting edge technology on large projects with energy savings guarantees extending over many years. Who should bear that risk, and how should it be managed? This course will explore the key issues for ESCOs to consider when negotiating subcontracts and will propose strategies for resolving those issues in a way that fairly allocates risks among the parties. The program will also provide tips for managing ESPC projects, including how to recognize warning signs that there is trouble ahead and what to do to address common problems.
