The Initiative for Resiliency in Energy through Vehicles (iREV) is a nation-wide project that has developed resources that emergency planners can use to integrate alternative fuel vehicles into emergency planning and response activities. At the upcoming International Association of Emergency Manager’s (IAEM) Annual Conference, representatives from iREV will discuss the project and available resources during two breakout sessions. During the first breakout session (scheduled for 1:45pm), participants will learn about resources developed under iREV, and will hear from cities and states that have successfully used biodiesel, electric, natural gas, and propane vehicles during emergencies. At the second session (scheduled for 3pm), speakers will demonstrate a new online tool that is designed to help visualize the location of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure and integrate these resources into emergency planning. Participants will also learn about the National Clean Cities Program, and what resources and assistance is available from their local Clean Cities Coalition.
